Legends of Slots
Legends of Slots is one of those games I expected to bounce off in five minutes and ended up opening every evening for a week. The core loop is simple: you spin a set of themed reels, match symbols, and slowly unlock new boards built around different legends — knights, sea creatures, forest spirits and so on. Each board has its own art style and little animations that play when a line comes together, and honestly the presentation is where it shines.
Controls are as light as it gets. One big button to spin, a couple of taps to switch between unlocked boards, and a menu to see which characters you've collected. What kept me going wasn't the spinning itself but the collection side — every board wants a specific set of symbols to reach full completion, and chasing that last missing piece is oddly satisfying. There's a progress bar that fills over several sessions, which gives the whole thing a gentle sense of forward motion.
It's not a deep game and it doesn't pretend to be. If you want something to fidget with while a podcast plays, it fits perfectly. I'd have liked a bit more variety in the board goals, but the art and the soft sound design carried me further than I expected.
What we liked
- Clean one-tap controls anyone can pick up
- Lovely themed art on every board
- Collection goals that give sessions a point
