Building a team that survives Ashveil's midgame wall
Almost everyone who plays Ashveil Chronicles hits the same wall around chapter four. There's a boss that punishes a lopsided party, and if you've been leaning on one character the whole way, it stings.
The fix is building around the elemental triangle rather than raw stats. I swapped my pure-damage lineup for a mix of two attackers, a healer, and someone who could shift enemy types mid-fight. Suddenly the boss's big attack stopped landing for full damage.
Don't sleep on the skill reset option. The game lets you rebuild skill trees cheaply, and I rebuilt mine three times during this fight before it clicked. That flexibility is the whole point.
After that wall the game opens up and the harder enemies become a fun puzzle instead of a brick. Stick with it.
